Students heading to college, employees on transfer and families relocating often want their two-wheeler at the new city from day one. Here is how to prepare.
Documents
- Copy of the RC and insurance
- ID proof of the owner
- Addresses and contact numbers at both ends
Preparing the bike
- Keep only a minimal amount of fuel in the tank.
- Remove helmets, bags, phone holders and other accessories.
- Note existing scratches and take photos.
- Check the battery and tyres.
How bikes are packed
A properly packed bike has its tank, handle, mirrors, headlight and body panels covered with cardboard and stretch film, as in the photo above. This protects the paint and fragile parts from rubbing during transit.
At delivery
Unwrap and inspect the bike before signing. Check the mirrors, indicators and body panels against your photos.
